Mixed-Use Destinations by Kaufman & Company

District

Where everything comes together. Places designed around how people live, work, dine, gather and connect.

Brand Story

District is Kaufman & Company's platform for mixed-use destinations, places built around the rhythm of everyday life rather than a single use. Each District brings residential, retail, dining and gathering space into one walkable environment, anchored by street-level activity and shared public realm. Rather than isolating where people live from where they shop, eat and connect, District designs neighborhoods where those things happen within the same few blocks.

The platform draws on Kaufman & Company's broader development experience to create destinations that feel distinctly local: tenant mixes shaped by the surrounding community, public spaces designed for events and everyday use, and architecture that reflects the character of its place rather than a repeatable formula.

What We Build

Philosophy

Kaufman & Company believes the most resilient places are the ones that work for more than one reason to visit. A District succeeds when it draws people in for dinner, for work, for an event, and for a place to live, all in the same few blocks. That mix lowers the risk of any single use, sustains street-level activity throughout the day, and gives each community a center of gravity that remains distinct from the next.
